Chesterton International Strengthens Asian Links
Thursday 09 June 2016

Chesterton (QLD) has worked closely with the Asian business community for over 15 years, and is currently managing major retail shopping centres in the Brisbane area, including centres in Sunnybank, Eight Mile Plains and Gympie. The addition of DFO Jindalee reinforces Chesterton's reputation as a trusted manager for Asian property assets. The buyer of the retail centre, Mr Wen of the Wen’s family Chin Hong Investment Corporation in Taiwan, commented, "We have great confidence in Chesterton's ability to manage and grow our assets, and I'm hopeful we can work together on other centres in future."

Chesterton Executive Chairman Shaun Douglas says it's vital to have highly skilled professionals in the company with the expertise to manage retail, commercial and industrial properties. He sees partnerships such as this as more than just looking after a property, "Our management focuses on investment objectives and we continually review the progress of the asset. We are very happy to be on board with the Wen family, and I think we have the right people and the right experience to improve and grow the asset over the long term."

Personal relationships are very important in Asian business culture, and Chesterton Commercial Sales Agent Jennie Smith, who was born in China, believes this is the key to building stronger ties to the Asian investment community, "Interest in Queensland property from overseas investors is booming, and our understanding of the Asian community and dedication to personal service is what makes us stand apart."
